Default AC Lines Replacement - XJ 1997

Hi Guys,

New to the forum and need advice - my AC Lines both need replacing
  • AC Line - Compressor to Condenser
  • AC Line - Condenser to Receiver Drier
Do I need specific AC lines designed for my XJ 97 or any AC lines aftermarket will fit?

Yes, they have steel bends, so although it may be possible to have custom hoses made, original parts are still available for LHD vehicles as far as I know

A quick look at google gave up some leads on AC lines you may want to look at. Good Luck!

You can try, there is a few Jeep Specialists in Australia

An aircon specialist can make custom hoses

Its a very tight fit to thread the hose end down to the lower condensor fitting...so I really dont know if LH pipes have a chance of working

There is also a good chance the steel line fitting will be frozen to the Al condensor male outlet

The utmost precautions must be taken to get this free, the condensor must come out, have the condensor outlet put in a vice, and try a bit of heat

(otherwise the brittle Al neck will tear like paper)

Condensors are also at "end of life" too

RHD ones are available in Oz, but over $400

According to a recent Oz poster on here, a LH unit from Rock Auto can be made to work, it involved swapping the brackets
