Hi everyone. I’m installing AC back into my cherokee as a previous owner removed the AC condenser due to a front end accident. The AC condenser has been removed for years and no one bothered to cap off the lines going to the AC drier, causing it to be ruined quickly. This is where the trouble comes in. There’s what looks like a port or a hole on the Drier where a line is supposed to go but there’s no line in the port, and I don’t know where the line that would be coming out of this port would go. Below is a picture of what I’m taking about, and you can see there is no line attached. Any tips would be very helpful. This is in a 1996 Jeep Cherokee with the R-134A refrigerant system. Thanks!
I believe that there is no line there. I'm pretty sure the 96 is the same as the 95 and I fixed my A/C last year (and it's working great) and there are definitely 2 lines and the cutoff switch. Threaded just like yours with the dryer in the same spot. I'll run out and look at it since I believe mine has the same capped off end like that. I'd assume it's a service port or something like that.
