I picked up a 97 cherokee, 4L, 4x4 from a neighborhood kid last week for a grand. It runs great, the 4x4 and everything else works great, and the AC blew ice cold...until yesterday when one of the lines blew out.

I am having the hardest time finding a replacement AC hose manifold for the 97. Jeepair has one listed for $89 and they say its for a 97-99. Is this the same for any of the manifolds that you might find in Autozone, Oreilly, or Ebay? Are the manifolds interchangable for 97, 98 and 99's? The parts stores can't even bring anything up in their computers for either a 97 or 98, but they all have them for the 99.

A local salvage yard said he can get one for a 98 and one for 99 on Monday, but none for a 97.

Just want to ask the experts here for advice. Also, this is my toy and i will be slowly fixing and souping, and keeping a build log for the world to see.

Iirc, we got the hose/manifold for our '98 at Autozone for about $90 2 years ago.

 

www.rockauto.com will have it for a pretty good price.

 

djb383 was it specifically for a 98?

bustedback searching rockauto I get the same results; they have one listed for a 99 but nothing for 97 or 98.

I think my best option is going to be to order one for a 99 from a parts store that has a good return policy. I'll report my findings afterwards.
