My right blinker(indicator) has always been temperamental sometimes working sometimes not,well yesterday it was raining (nothing unusual their) but when i turned right this bleeping noise started,never heard before.Hard to figure out where it comes from must be speakers,do 1987 xj normally have audible sound when they flash and if so why only when i turn right. Not major issue but annoying.
I just hope reversing alarms dont start to work next.

 

The only sound I ever hear is the flasher unit under the dash. Take a look at the rear blinker sockets, make sure they are not corroded (or rusted up) and well grounded. They have a tendency to collect moisture from rain and snow. Especially if the inner fender (plastic piece, become brittle over time) is cracked or missing. And finally: You have a back-up alarm?
