AC/heat blower switch problem
I'm having a problem with the blower motor/switch in my Cherokee. There's 4 fan speed settings in it, 1 being the slowest, 4 being the fastest. Only 1,2 and 3 work. When I put the speed on 4 (high) the blower motor turns off and does nothing. If I put it back on the 3rd fan speed, it comes back on. What could cause this? A bad switch?

Have a '96 that does the exact same thing. Never really cared that it did not work. Always figured it was the switch too. Checked the blower motor resistor anyway, if it was that it would only work on high, and it seemed OK.

First thing to check is the blower speed switch to see if the connector is melted/destroyed connection.
Then check the connector at the blower resistor block to see if that connector is damaged. There should be a pin with two green wires going to it. One goes to the blower speed switch HI, the other goes to the blower motor. The one going to the blower motor should be intact being that the other speeds work.

Curious was there any outcome to this? I have same issue. Fan works on speeds 1-3, but not 4 the highest setting. Going to look at connectors for any visible damage today.
