Default AC Doesnt blow cold

I have an 88 Pioneer with the factory AC (i think). The AC works and blows somewhat cool but not cold enough for florida summers. Im not fimiliar with how AC works at all so im wondering what can be done to improve the Temp of the air.

Thanks

take it to a shop and let them do it... u can you screw stuff up and makes things worse if you dont know what your doing... i thought i did as ive messed with AC alot... but my dodge runs a 5v system that i didnt know about... stuck 12v to it troubleshooting and burnt up a $230 fuel control actuator, and $200 PCM... my truck still sitting in the driveway and im $600 into it now after getting it back from the shop still broke... after towing fees and troubleshooting cost of what i did... lol

it may be something as simple as adding freon... but without the right gauges and knowhow you can blow out every seal in your AC system pretty darn easily... to a shop it wouldnt cost much...

Before you take it to a shop I would go the your local auto parts store and buy a recharge kit. Comes with all the gauges you need to add freon. Its very simple and will not blow out any seals. If that doesn't fix it then you need to take it to a shop $$.

yeah it will blow out the seals... if hes already got freon and adds more... the full kit with gauge and all cost about the same as a small shop to check it right fast... he stated he doesnt know how the AC system works... thats enough to say take it to someone who does... and be done with it...

if i can find a shop to check it out for free ill listen to what they have to say. Im hoping its just low of freon and a simple recharge kit will fix it.

I hate the big name places, but just keep your eye out for the "getting hot, have ur ac checked" signs
