AC compressor pulley question
I searched but couldn't find a definitive answer. So the AC pulley totally took a **** on my '98 XJ. It started smokin and squealing so I parked it for a few days till I could get a compressor from pick-n-pull. So now that that's all done and the Jeep is running well, my question is about the pulley itself.
Can the pulley's bearings be serviced/greased? I noticed auto zone rents an AC clutch puller so I was wondering if this could be done to my compressor?
Oh and check out the corrosion on one of the compressors bolts! Of course the one at the junkyard comes off fine, but the bolt on mine snaps! All fixed though.

If your like me and don't use A/C, then you can save yourself gas and headaches and just pickup the bypass pully for the A/C.
Come to find out on Cherokee's, well at least an 86', the A/C kicks on if you put it in defrost, and well I like using defrost..... all of the time.
I cut the wires to my A/C pump (then found the plug that I could have just disconnected) and am going to figure out a way to get rid of/bypass it all together.
I'm using a 2.5L so the less drag the better for me.

Yeah I do want AC! It worked when I bought the Jeep, so the connector I just left unplugged until I recharge the system. And yes, defrost cycles your compressor on and off. Otherwise it might seize up when you haven't used it in 8 months.
