ac clutch where to buy one?

Default ac clutch where to buy one?

so i had my car recharged at a local shop and i drove it about 15 mins and it stopped again...sooo we brought it back in and checked it and the compressor is bad....just the clutch...so is there anywhere you can just buy the clutch from? i dont wanna pay $230 for a new compressor when its fine

orrrrrr is it possible that something else is not giving it power? the compressor is getting power to it

NAPA might have the clutch, the dealer will most likely have it. You have voltage going to the Clutch, and have a good ground for the clutch, yet it does not work? Bad winding in the clutch.

napa doesnt have it....i dont want to spend a crazy amount..but yea power and ground both to the compressor...it turns on but the clutch doesnt engage

The clutch assemblies range $150-200+ depending on where yo uget them

Yo ucan always get a used compressor from the junkyards...

Yeah, a boneyard might just save your bacon. All you really need is the electromagnet part of the clutch, only a nut and a few snap rings to get it off.

yea i just looked at the assembly looks super easy to pull...hope i can find a working one...damn i just spend the last 2 months making it leak free hahah...oh well ad least i know what the prob is now

Did you check rockauto.com?

Im looking right now...

Edit: They do not list one.

JY may be the best bet. Does not look like its available separate. Even google could not find me one.
