AC clutch issues

AC clutch issues
Hello, so I have another problem with my 1998 Cherokee. The AC clutch does not appear to be working correctly. When I turn on the AC if the engine bay is cold the clutch will engage but once everything heats up it will stop working. Then if I park it and let it cool down the clutch will engage again. I there a way to fix this without replacing the compressor.
