ABS Elimination??
98 Sport, auto, 4.56's and 11.50x32 STTs, hard to hold to on hillsides!
It seems to take a excessive amount of brake pedal pressure on steep decents and just "holding" on hillsides. I am worried about blowing a master cylinder.
I was wondering if I should, and if so how to, disconnect the ABS?
Would this help in wheeling???
Thanks

ABS Only engages above a certain speed (the lowest I've ever heard of an ABS controller set to engage at is 3mph). But I've driven vehicles where ABS doesn't work below 20mph. I personally don't know what it is in Jeeps, but you shouldn't have any issue just going slowly down a hill or holding at a stand still.
Is the pedal soft?
I don't think it's the ABS system...

Its against Federal Law to disable ABS if you have it.
Its not the ABS that is causing you to have to stand on the brakes. It is mass and gravity interacting with each other.
