???
debris, and no you're not mistaken.
should you use them? eh. I have them on mine, but I know plenty of guys w/o them for wheeling because they do let some debris in, and then won't let it back out...it wrecks the seal on them.

They are for keeping the feet of your shocks toasty warm in cold weather.
Ok, now that the sarcasm is out of the way.
Shock boots were originally designed to keep debris off the exposed area of the shocks piston.
But like stated before, some does get in...but cannot get back out.
Should you run with them???
That can only be answered by YOU.
If you feel like you need them...go for it.
If you really want them.... go for it.
Can you get some that will accent your rig?..Yes?---Go for it.
Will it make any difference to your shocks (either way)...IMHO--->No
Q: Will anyone here make fun of you because you decided to USE/NOT USE them?
A: Only if they are total a--holes

As a matter of fact...they do.
BTW: I would not mind and original VW thing...the Kuebelswagen. That would be awesome.
The rebirth of the Kuebelswagen in the early to mid70's- VW Thing, was merely a rebodied Beetle.
