99 XJ... What Transfer Case Do I have???

Do you think full time 4wd is necessary? (If equipped, I'm not doing a swap just curious) and does the 242 have the viscous coupler like the 247's (I think, might be 249) have?

I don't consider full time 4WD necessary, just like I don't consider an automatic transmission necessary. It all has to do with the skill and knowledge of the driver.
