Default 99 xj sputtering popping hesitating

I had 2 o2 codes i didnt change them out yet but I did erase codes from computer. Engine light is not back on yet but still runs like crap. It will run great for a while and then you wonder if your gonna make it another block. Do you believe new o2 sensors will clear it up? Thanks!

Just because you cleared the codes and they don't come back immediately doesn't mean the problem still isn't there. Once they reach their operating temperature and aren't detecting properly then your engine is going to suffer until you at least replace the upstream one.

my 99 would start up fine run for a few minutes and then do this. after about a minute it would clear up and be fine. replaced one 02 sensor and it fixed it for a few months until it started up again. replaced the other o2 sensor and cleared that up. long story short, i think its the o2 sensors

Always post the EXACT code numbers here for the most accurate replies.

If the word "heater" is in both of these code descriptions, (and even if it isn't) the first thing you need to do is to verify that the fuse in the power distribution center (black box under the hood) is not blown.

It is around the 16-17 slot area in the PDC
