99 XJ Power Window and Locks Problem
I have done some searching, but have not yet found anything similar to the issue I have. I recently picked-up a 1999 Cherokee, and two annoying things that I have lived with involve the driver's door power window, and the power locks. I can operate all of the power windows (from any switch) except the driver's door window. Also, if I try and use the power locks (by the button or the fob), the lock actuators all make a noise like they are operating (maybe not the driver's door), but none of the doors unlock. The only thing that will lock/unlock is the tailgate. From what I have read, this does not sound like a problem in the main module that is located in the front passenger's door. I have not started opening up things yet, but was hoping someone with more experience with the odd system these cars have can point me in the direction of the likely culprit.
I have repaired similar issues in other cars, but they were always straight-forward in that it was a bad switch or actuator.
