When I first heard/felt the issue, it was in light snow...maybe 1-2". In 2wd, the XJ is flawless. Forwards or reverse.
When 4wd is selected, in any position (NP242J T Case) forward or reverse, under light throttle. It is ok, no shudder... (until this morning). Under medium to heavy throttle, it will exhibit this shudder, kinda like it's slipping in and out of 4wd...(until this morning).
Today I made an early coffee run, it was snowing here, the T/C was in FT4WD. As I wheeled into the drive thru, I NOW was feeling axle bind (and the shudder/lurching noise) Like it was in 4Lo and I was turning too sharp. Although it was only 1/4 turn of the wheel, and in 4wd FT. So I dropped it into N, then into 4H. Back into D, rolled up to the window, and more axle bind, accompanied with the shudder/lurching. Paid, rolled around the corner, into N, dropped into 2WD. Back into D, damn thing is still engaged. Back into R, slide into D. And finally released into 2WD.
I'm stumped, but if I can't figure this out...with some help...it too will become a part vehicle. In not a stupid fella, do alot of wrenching myself. Have owned alot of 4x4's in the past. But on this one I'm buggered!
Both F/R diff's and T/C were flushed about 700 km ago.

Any other folks care to chime in.
If it's an issue with a T case, because I own and operate a heavy towing company, time is a commodity I don't have alot of. So I'd be more apt to just but another good used T case and go that route. Until I had time to tear into the problematic one...if in fact it is the problem.
