Default 99 - What O2 sensors to use since NTKs are unobtanium

I have a 99 Cherokee (Tub Thumper). I was seeing some articles about NTK stopping production of the O2 sensors for these. And wouldn't you know it, my 99 started throwing a code for downstream O2 sensor heating circuit failure. What alternative O2 sensors are recommended since I cannot find NTKs? I checked Denso and their application guide lists theirs as universal, which I am not a fan of. I have also seen a lot of people having issues with Bosch.
I have 4 Jeeps and use NTK in all of them, so not happy they stopped making the O2 sensors for the Cherokee.

Bosch was who developed O2 sensors, so I would trust one of those. Also, Rock Auto lists Mopar sensors. I don't think you can ever go wrong with OEM parts.

Any old universal one'll do just fine - all that's important is it's got a black wire, a grey one & 2 whites!

However if brand's important, get theirs for another make/model & swap the plugs.

I was leaning towards MOPAR. Thanks for the replies. I have a 98 and a 99 so can try out different brands when I need to.

Mmmm no.

Low quality sensors, even parts in general, has been a plague. Often, they don't even work out of the box.

It's been well documented that cheap or generic parts won't cut it. I even had an issue recently with a "name brand" timing chain stretching out within 10k miles (different engine).

I ended up ordering MOPAR from RockAuto. I was checking a few of the mopar sites and they either only had 1 (upstream or downstream) or neither. Hope this isn't a bad harbinger of other parts availability. Some opf the mopar sites only go back to 2000 for picking a year.

IMO going to happen.
OEM parts becoming more and more N/A as time goes on.
Sometime ago started buying parts for "stock".
Especially sensors.
For my '00 thinking I have new Mopar Map sensor (with the little hose), coolant and oil sensor, IAC, TPS, Crank and Cam sensors, and even a couple of the NTK O2 sensors out of the 4 that my '00 takes.
Even bought a couple Mopar oil adapter O-Ring kits just cause I could.
Also grabbed a Mopar fuel pump brand new in the box sometime ago just cause the opportunity presented itself.
Not to mention the stash of used parts that I have been hoarding.
Extra power seat bases, wiring harnesses, etc.
And if I never use them will perfectly OK with that.
Then 10 years from now when I no longer need them will put them on Ebay for big bucks.
LOL.

Meanwhile, those of us who live in the real world will never have that problem because those cheap old parts Mother Mopar bought by weight from whoever did them cheapest & put in Mopar boxes haven't been generally available for at least 15 years & we have our own trusted aftermarket brands & suppliers we, like the vehicle repair trade here, can rely on.

Brand loyalty is all very well but, with the possible exception of Ford, motor manufacturers make very little of their products, they are assembled from generic parts, albeit from reputable companies in their own field. It's who makes the parts that's important, not who's names on the packaging.

Exhaust int he wild. Still on the original down pipe (factory dent intact) and catalytic convert.

Blown O2 heter fuse
Finally got around to changing the O2 sensors. The downstream came out pretty easy. Front was a PITA. Just not much room to work in there. Found it easiest to just take the front part of the exhaust out. Then I can cut the O2 sensor down with an angle grinder and get a socket with a break bar on it after I heat it all up with a propane torch. I did discover that O2 sensor fuse was blown and kept blowing when replaced. I got of the fancy new LED fuses that glow when they blow. $1/fuse but pretty useful.
Several trips with no blown fuse and no DTC codes so I think i'm good now. No wire chafing anywhere so msut have been the sensor heater gone bad.
