99 No Bus error
I have a 99 xj, I have checked al grounds except to radio, read that may be the issue, it has an after market radio. Any suggestions would be helpful.

Hey there, first I'd like to welcome you to the forums. Lots of helpful people and information here. I also have a 99 and have gotten the "no bus" reading in the odometer, my jeep was also running completely fine on both occasions it was very humid. So I'm guessing it was the humidity that caused the problem. Now I don't believe a radio connection would cause that error. It's more likely a connection behind the cluster. I'm not sure exactly where in there but that's where I'd focus my attention first.

Under the dash driver side, next to kick panel, check the two connection blocks. These blocks are held together with a screw, make sure they haven't come loose. I believe, looking up from floor, the one on the left, closer to the door, has the leads coming from the cluster. Mine were loose and after tighting the screw's the intermittent "no bus" has not come back since.
