There are 3 to 4 bolts in the doors that need to be removed then you lift and pull but watch out because the door handle and door lock lever are attached to it

Default Front lock work but not back

So I just recently purchased a 99 jeep Cherokee at first only the driver side could control any of the windows or locks and the back doors would not lock or unlock when pushing the switch in the driver seat I switched the panel for the driver's door made all the windows work with there own controls which they would not do before but did not fix the problems with the back doors locking or unlocking with the new switch (or old switch for that matter). It seams like the new switch only fixed the power windows for the whole car but the back locks still do not work. Anybody have this same issue would love to try an figure out. Not the biggest issue but would love for the whole car to lock or unlock when the button is pressed not just the front. Thanks any help would be appreciated

I took mine out and took it apart and shot it with electrical contact cleaner and reassembled and all works as it should. Good Luck!

So mine trip themselves. They will lock on their own. 98 sport with power options. They work from the switches on both doors just fine but if I leave it unlocked it will randomly lock itself. I'm wondering if it's possible it's do to a poor ground and where would be the ground to start with?

A previous XJ of mine used to do that -- randomly engage the locks, typically while driving. Turned out there were cracks/exposed wire in the harness in the passenger door jamb. A little electrical tape stopped the ghost locks.
