Default 99 Cherokee light promblem

My 99 Cherokee Left side front and rear parking lights quit working. I have turn signals and brake lights on left but no running lights. The other night I had a flash of light and pop noise from under passenger side dash and glove box light quit working. I don't see any shorted wires under dash and I pulled all the fuses under hood and under dash and looked at them and none are blown. Could the headlight switch be bad.

Hmm, strange. Only the left side? Right off the bat you'd think a fuse or relay, I'd say double check and replace them first. Go to a junkyard and get the relays and what not, before you replace the headlight switch.

After reading a little from google, a few people had similar problems with their Lamp Outage Module which is located behind the small door where the spare tires mounts up. Maybe that will help you source the cause of this.

Thank you for the replies. I called a Jeep dealer and shop foreman told me the 99 Cherokee does not use the LOM (light out module) found on older models. He suggested I purchase a test light and check for power at fuses and try a new bulb even though they don't look blown. I will try my luck at this. I got pulled over last night coming home from work and I don't think they are going to keep letting me go with just a warning.

I had the same problem with the parking lights in the front - on one side, the turn signals worked fine but no running lights. Long story short, I replaced both bulbs even though the existing ones seemed fine and that seems to have done the trick.

Default Fuse is Blown

I was able to get a fuse panel diagram and a test light. Turns out it has a left side park light fuse and a right side fuse. The left side fuse was blown. I put a new fuse in and it blows immediately. Anybody have an Idea where to look for short. I checked harness under passenger side of dash for bare wires.

As suggested before, pull the bulbs for your running lights and check them. They should be a dual filament bulb, one is the brake light and the other is a running light. Therefore it's common to have one light up and not the other.

I'd say go ahead and replace the bulbs and a install a new fuse. Let is know what happens.
