Just picked up a nice low mileage '99, however there is a minor front differential leak (seal where the driveshaft is inserted).
Is this an easy fix (hoping just a pop out type of seal), or will the sealing mechanism require much more effort?
Also, I see many of these Cherokees (including mine) appear to have weak looking rear springs (arch is flat or even negative). Is this o.k. to drive this way, and can it handle a load o.k.?
If not, any suggestions on springs and/or helpers?

I'm not sure on the seal but you should be safe to driveon the leafs. Unless they are like super inverted. It will effect your payload cause the springs just don't have as much strength.

New, stock style leaf springs look flat 30 days after they are installed.
They start with a bit' o' lift but they settle right back down to nearly flat.
Inverted 10 year old leafs are not really strong enough to hold more than groceries. No worries for a personal daily driver. Avoid any big potholes or more than 2 people.
But don't try to carry a load of firewood.
