I’ve got a major gremlin and it’s driving me nuts. The following are what it’s doing
* indicates a new day. If anyone has a close as to where to start looking I’d be forever greatful. I bought this new 25 yrs ago and have always taken care of it of it.

Driver side tail light stopped working. Changed bulb still not working



*Start motor, turn on lights and rear whipper came on 1 pass



*Operate drivers lock whipper turns on and continues

*Check engine light turns on and check gauges light on then off



*Locks operating on their own wiper continues

Turn lights off, whiper and locks stop check engine light remain on

Check engine light off



*Changed aftermarket LED headlights back to halogen, everything working properly



*start car turn on lights nothing wrong

Put in reverse or drive while lights on rear whipper turns on



*Lights turned on rear wiper activates



*Lights on no wiper, but as soon as I hit a bump wiper in rear activated. In another bump rear wiper activated.



*Turn off car roll windows up depress door lock button on driver side horn honk



*Start car, turn on lights, rear whipper starts,

Rear hath door lock operates- lock,unlock over and over. Tach and speedometer go from operating speeds to zero over and over. Light on rear window defrost switch comes on. Shifter light and accessories light goes dim then bright



*Nothing goes wrong unless I turn the headlights on



*Turned on headlights rear wiper starts

Few minutes later. Depress door lock rear wiper turns on.



*No key in ignition

Lock doors, horn honks



*Door unlock honks horn with motor off

Nothing when engine running/ normal

*Lights turn on rear wiper.



While engine on, turn on light rear wiper operates

Speedometer and tach go from normal to zero over and over…

Rear hatch lock, locks and unlocks over and over

Rear defrost switch indicator lights up,

Lights on center counsel go bright and dim over and over

 

Your ride is haunted I believe 🤪🤪. Jk, time for electricity training. You have some wiring ****ery going on.

 

Sounds pretty entertaining.

The normal place to start on something like this is to "refresh" ( unscrew, clean to bare metal, tighten) ALL the grounds, including for sure the ones in/under the dash.
There are a lot of them, under trim, hiding under goo in the engine compartment.
Best bet is to get out your factory shop manual and look at the electrical section.
