So my XJ also has a few electrical traits I've noticed.

First of all, my power locks lock/unlock whenever the passenger side door is slightly open, each time it passes by a certain point on the way open or close it will set off the power locks, it's gotten to a point where now the power locks have stopped responding on the remote or switches on the doors. Anyone seen this before?

Also, when opening my drivers door, my stereo will shut off/mute for a moment, then usually turn back on after 2 seconds, or show a security light until I reset it. Has anyone encountered either of these errors before?

 

I'm not an expert but my guess would be breaking/broken wires where they go between door and body.
