Default 98 XJ Turn Signal Switch

The turn signal switch on my XJ will not cancel. I presume this is the switch. Do you have to remove the steering wheel to replace? Anyone know where there are pictures of the repair? Thanks.

no,,you just have to remove the lower dash panel and use a flashlight to locate the flasher unit..

I think it is just a matter of removing the covers off of the column and the two screws that hold the multi-function switch onto the column.

I think he means the signal lever will not click back into the "neutral" area after turning. Mine does the same for the left arrow.

IIRC in addition you also have to remove the lower dash panel like KURTDANIEL said

I have the same problem. Had the turn signal unit replaced and the problem continued with the new unit. The mechanic I took it too, a friend that I trust, told me it had something to do with the column itself.

Since the only problem it causes is that I have to manually turn the signal off, I didn't spend money fixing it.

Does your signal stop blinking and just stays on? I have that problem as well.
