oil pressure help?

I have a 95 cherokee w/ a 4.0, automatic trans, 4x4. It has just started to have a problem when I floor it the oil pressure pegs to the highest point on the gauge around 80. it didnt used to do this and when I first start it, it runs just over 40 and slowly begins to drop to around 35. The only thing I have done recently wasa change the oil. Any advise of where AI should start looking would be awsome.

I was going to suggest that. They are supposed to be fairly durable but you could have slammed it by accident when changing the filter. Its a 25 dollar part. I am pretty sure you could grab one from a JY if you are cheap.
