Default 98 xj runs perfect, dies.

Wouldn't run at all, so I replaced the fuel pump, the crank sensor, then the cam sensor, then it ran great for a couple weeks and started dying. Replaced the coil, started running great again for a couple weeks, then dying again. Replaced the battery and alternator, and it ran great for a couple days. Now it starts and runs perfect for 5 min, then shuts off. I can start it again if I hold it to the floor. I replaced the PCM with a junkyard one today, but no change. Sometimes if it's about to die, I can hold it to the floor and it sputters through it and revs back up and runs great for another minute. ugh. I really want it to run because it's a nice rig. Thanks for letting me vent...

Pretty nutty. Being that it seems to run better every time you replace something my inclination is a bad connection somewhere that's being moved when working on it. Start by checking ground connections and go from there.

I replaced the crank sensor again, and it started running well again. Took it for a spin, all good, then about an hour later it died again, the same way. I got under the hood and grabbed the wiring harness everywhere I could and just wiggled it up and down. It started fine. Drove a mile and it died again, so I wiggled the harness in different spots and tried starting after each one. Finally got it with the wiggle by the coil. I took the wrapping off the wires and started gently pulling on wires and a connection just fell apart. I hooked a jumper wire to it and it started. Pulled it and it died. 850$ in parts and I finally found it! I'm so stoked to be driving it around now. I've been messing with it for over a year...
