98 cherokee vacuum ball thing behind front bumper ?
I got a 98 cherokee i just built a custom bumper for and i had a vacuum line hooked up to a plastic ball mounted to the back of my bumper. my buddy said it has something to do with cruise control is that true if so do i need it if not what do people usually do with it.

Thanks for the input guys. Gonna relocate it this weekend. Nice easy modification. Im still a new member and have been finding awesome information about alot on here.

Good one guy's, thanks. Mine has been hanging loose since the bailing wire broke. Didn't think of wiring it somewhere else.

The device you guys are referring to is called a vacuum collector. It holds vacuum so the various things like the vent deflector works when you change the direction of air flow, etc. All vehicles with vacuum controlled devices have them.

Don't think so. Think that's done with cables. Least mine didn't have problems with that when my ball leaked. Have any coolant smell in the cab?
