Default '98 Cherokee Sport Brakes Squeaking

I have a 1998 Cherokee Sport, and It's been a blast ever since we bought it. A month or two ago, my dad and I replaced the brake pads, and wheel cylinders. For the first week or so, my brakes were tight, no squealing, no squeaking, everything was going fine. I noticed the brakes starting to give more and more over time, and at this point they're more loose than they were before we replaced the pads. We've bled them several times, put new brake fluid in them, and adjusted them, yet I'm still have two minor problems:

- I'm having to apply way too much pressure to the break pedal to stop

- Even while the brakes aren't being pressed, I hear a high pitched squealing coming from my breaks, which stops when I apply a small amount of pressure to the break pedal

Can anyone offer me some help on what I should do? I've considered just buying a break rebuild kit at this point, but I don't know if that would even help the situation.

Thanks,
Luke

Might have got bad wheel cylinders, but did you bleed the system RR, LR, RF, LF? Could still have air in the system. Check master cylinder, too, might be something wrong with it. Do you have ABS?

Btw, you don't have a "4.0 Inline V6"... It's just "4.0 inline six." Having both an inline six and v6 would be impossible by the accepted definition of both engines.

Would we just check for leaks to see if the Wheel Cylinders are bad?

Yes, We bled all 4 brakes, until all clean fluid was coming out.

I know ABS stands for Anti-Lock Break System, but I'm not sure about what it does. All I know is that my breaks have never locked up on me.

And how do I go about checking my master cylinder?
