Ah..finally some time..No spark on 3&4...after swapping cap, rotor, and wires...and injector pulse is there on 3&4 with a 3v mag light bulb plugged into the disconnected EV-1 (injector), connector(s)? (that bulb blinked nicely for me)(paperclips). You got .4+ AC,V, from your CPS cranking......Pete, Chuck, Blue?, would the ECU differentiate between the injector pulse and the ICM if there were a booger (period)with the flex plate? Also jh, you might pull the cap and watch how the rotor revolves. Is it smooth? Or maybe jerky? Grasping! ,but easy enough to check. If it's binding you might see it jerk. I'm learning myself. If the rotor is catching and jumping of course that isn't good. I'd think if the ECU has "got it " for the injectors, likely it it giving the ICM what it wants, and the ICM doesn't care which Cyl. it is.
CPS, Cap/rotor/wires,........ or the ECU if 3&4 don't light the light. Just rambling.
With the cps out you could rotate the ******* thing and look in and see if you have something "special". (rodents and insects get really creative here)

Don Check the little module inside the distributor. It is probably your culprit. They rarely go out. I have heard of one and I have been working on Renix stuff for over 20 years.
Injectors are problably OK and you have checked everything that could cause the misfires but that module. So my thoughts are directed at it.

Blue, go out and unplug the distributor harness and see if your Jeep starts.

OK. I'm all ears here. I'd land squarely with Cruiser since mine works fine with the cam sensor deal unplugged. (sync pulse generator, bla bla) Butt...(capital but here), plugged in it might still be able to cause a problem??? Maybe what blue is getting at? Idk, but supper easy to check.
Jindler, unplug the wires to your distributor. (the little ones, not the secondary), to eliminate the possibility that the sinc pulse giginizer is nuking your spark on 3&4. (Renix doesn't need them, brain wasn't removed till 91)
, then check spark on 3&4.
Seriously, unplug it and see. If 3&4 then spark, you need to send a can of tuna to Blue. I wouldn't speak for Cruiser or Blue, but I wonder if there can be a bad ECU there if it doesn't. You have .35 acv or higher from the CPS,(also 200 ohms plus/minus 75 hot), and all injectors hitting, but no spark on just 3&4?
?
Aw S*** don't even see what year F T

thanks for the replies guys !
backed away from this thing for a few days as it is seriously kicking my a$$
got the laptop in the garage with me and a day dedicated to it...
unplugged the harness to the dist and fired it up with just the coil wire and got the same results... gonna fiddle with the CPS next and see if i can get an eyeball on the flexplate...
anything on the dist i can clean up or test? the fact that this was a running car is still factoring in here for me , i wouldnt think the dist would pick up a mech failure of some sort during the swap , but you never know i guess

yea... i pulled the flywheel cover and found a nice litte dent in the middle of the index holes on the flex plate, in the middle , right where 3 &4 get their signal from im suspecting... pulling the xmsn assy this time . down to the top 2 bolts and the torque converter bolts right now...jus stoped for a coffee and a smoke for a min..
