Default 97 XJ soundbar

Is it possible to remove just the sound bar without having to remove the rest of the headliner? The headliner material on mine is coming off and i want to replace it but i wasnt sure if i had to remove the whole head liner, or if i could just remove the sound bar.
Thanks!

You'll have to remove the rear most panel at the top of the liftgate. Then, remove the rear screws from the driver/passenger side pieces just forward of the rear one. Drop the cargo light from the speaker bar and then it should slide to the rear. After loosening and removing the screws, you may also be able to kind of wedge one side out at a time. Hope this healps. Good luck!

Thanks, I'll give it a try this weekend. The upholstery on the bar is sagging pretty bad.
