So I am on the cusp of finishing the headliner project that I started last summer (don't judge me!) and I need to make a decision. I have decided not to replace the headliner with anything even remotely resembling stock, and the soundbar isn't going to fit, and it also will get in the way of a rod rack that I am planning to put in. I am going to use Luan plywood, but that is for another thread entirely, which I will take pics of and post when I get everything together.

So this leaves me with a dilemma. Where else should I plan on putting the speakers? I think I am going to run the existing harness from the soundbar back into the hatch and wire speakers up there, after I fab up a new trim piece (also Luan) as mine is getting pretty beat up. I have found one thread somewhere, and I don't recall where at the moment) and the dude did just that.

Where else can I expect to put speakers? I don't want a box of any sort, just 6x9s or round ones, whatever size those come in. Is there room in either back door? I've never had those panels off, so I don't know from direct experience. So let me hear your suggestions please.

I guess this also means I have a soundbar for sale, maybe I'll post that up in the classifieds.

There's a thread around here somewhere that was a prerry decent write up of putting 6x9s in the hatch. Came out good and I think he just used a dremel.
