Hi my 97 xj driver window switch is not fully working. All the other window switches in the car working (passenger and both rear passenger switches) when i try and ise the main driver switch to put down any of the windows i can only put down the back right and sometimes the drivers windows. I have had 2 second hand switches and both are doing the same thing which makes me think its a wire somewhere. Any ideas how to fix it or a work around would be great. I have read people having a similar issue but they were able to control all the windows from the driver swicth.

 

The switch and/or the wiring in the rubber boot between the body and drivers door are the two most common issues when windows and locks dont work properly. Should you attempt to take the switch apart, be careful with the toggle switch covers as they can crack easily. Some are on there REALLY tight. The oval button lifts straight up. Dont worry about the D-pad as it does not need to come off. Keep in mind that the passenger side switch has caused trouble as well, even tho the driver switch is the master switch.
