I just bought a 1997 GC TSI 5.2l w/ full time 4wd.

Now to the problem... at 50mph for over 5 minutes, the jeep would start to hum and pull to the right, then snap back towards the left. It has been doing this for a while, increasing how often it happens by how long i drive and how fast i drive. I feel like there is something wrong with the drivetrain... I litterally just bought this, and i dont know a thing about jeeps or know how they react... btw, this is not death wobble, and here is why...

Tonight, i was driving my car back home with the same problem, when all of a sudden, instead of jerking towards the left, it starts to vibrate uncontrollably, and i had to slow down to about 40mph to feel like i wasnt going to explode. when i got to my house, i noticed sort of a burning smell coming from the rear end. There appears to be fluid leaking out of the rear end(never saw this before).

I let it cool, took it back out for a drive, and experience the same vibration as before, so something finally broke.. and i have no clue what it could be. Any help would be greatly appreciated

 

ugh, just noticed my back tires were under inflated (ugh, negligence) but i filled them back with air. the vibration has slightly gotten better, but its still going strong, and im unsure of the jerking... but i do feel confident that it will be gone... What could cause the drivetrain to all of a sudden start shaking violently like this? i can only feel it after 25-30mph...

 

Realizing my complete and udder stupidity... i just found a busted u joint under the car... omg... I build 1000hp motors and i couldnt figure out i needed a u joint in my jeep... I retire... haha. ugh
