My 97 5.2L Jeep Grand Cherokee cranks, but won't start and the guages won't turn on when I'm cranking it like it usually does. The code reader doesn't get any codes from it. So, I'm at a loss. I replaced the alternator and it ran great for about a week, or so. Then it started one morning and ran for about ten seconds and I haven't been able to get it going since then.

 

So im guessing it will crank over if the answer is yes. Next turn key over to the run postion where gauges should be on but as you do it listen for fuel pump to prime if you hear it then next check crank postion senor aka cps its located on the driverside upper region where bell housing meet motor.
