97+ gauge cluster swap
ok, so today. I changed out my gauges from idiot lights to proper gauges. eazy-peazy lemon-squeezy! and everything's workin great.
I'm not going to poast a total tech thread, as there are already pleanty of them on here. but I do have an amendment to them.
I've noticed that in all the tech threads, everyone says you have to "ream out" the hole around the light switch to get the dash piece out.
YOU DON'T
after you get the kick plate off from under the stearing wheel. reach up on the right hand side of the light switch module and feel around for a little round button, it's not hard to find. I have preaty big hands and found it with my big fat thumb < yeah, that one.
anyway. press that button, and pull the **** out. it should come easy with a coupple clicks. if not push the **** in and try again, don't force it. again, it should come easy.
at this point you can continue your gauge swap. when you get your dash back together, to reinstall the ****, just insert tab A into slot B, and BINGO! your done. no need to push the button again. you can if you want, buttons are fun.
anyway, just thought I'd share that little tidbit with ya. enjoy.
