97+ Door upgrade?
I am about to paint the car, and to be honest I don't like nor can stand the doors/windows on my jeep (92'). Past like 40pmh wind blows in them and its loud and annoying and when i wash the car, water gets inside lol. I was wondering what is needed and what has to be done to put in doors from a 97+ cherokee. I appreciate any help in advance.
well the weatherstripping is really bad, but the main reason i want to do this is to get other doors. Mine are dented and even if you un-dent them, they get messed up again with the slightest touch.
yeah I know what you mean both of my jeeps have dents in the doors and I fixed them both only to have the dents magicly reappear!!! I think that if you want to go with 97+ doors they should be a direct fit and 2000 and 2001 doors will be slightly different but I am not 100% on that I will look it up though.

the doors on the 89 had the flip out windows but the smaller mirrors just to throw that out there. but good luck on it and let us all know how it works out for you and I will give you updates on what I find out.

There is an article in the Jan 09 issue of JP for this. The striker bolt has to be relocated a bi t lower. Also the hinge design changed in 98. The article also give wiring instructions for the power stuff. One thing to note though it that the glove box wont open all the way due to the arm rest on the newer doors.
