Default 97+ center console cb mount

So i was goignt o mount my cb radio on the pass side of the center console but when i put my hand under it i felt a plactic tube. is that a heater duct running under it? because i was about to just drill right through it

yes there is a duct that runs along the passenger side of the console would probably be easier to pull the console out mount the bracket for the cb and then put the console back in imo

i have mine mounted there. i have a really small radio so i only used a few half inch screws and went really slow to make sure i didnt punch anything. maybe i got lucky? i never cheked for anything. its really a great spot and i leave my mic in the ash tray thing great access even to change channels while driving. ill get a pic tomorrow for you.

Did you remove the console? Because there's like a quarter of and inch between the duct and console

Hmm, I never really thought about that heater duct being there.. I mounted my cb there with 2 small screws (not sure of size but under 1/2") and haven't noticed any problems.

Most likley you went through it lol. What's the worse that could happen if there's two holes in it?
