So, broken center console latch + wiggle = annoying. Velcro + center console = happy jeepers?

 

Probably the same for all xj's, not just modern day.

 

Ah, my buddies old 93 had a working latch. And I've heard more about the newer console ones breaking. But very true I suppose. Probably true for most vehicles lol

 

funny, the latch in my 99 works just fine.

 

Lucky. Lol. I have a feeling I'm going to do this and then be annoyed by the velcro...

My 93 has been broken for years but the 97 is still going strong...

Well that does it!! Between my "guarenteed" to crack head and a broken latch I'm just gonna sell the worthless POS!!! So far only the latch is broken though, still waiting on the head to go...... seriously? I am also very sad that I don't get to play with distributors either, damn I should have bought an older one!

'96 zj latch broken
'99 xj latch broken
'89 xj i just bought latch works!

 

He has a 00 or 01, these years had bad head castings and no distributor, but had three coils for spark.

 

Past owner already went through the trouble of putting velcro on my broken center console so I didn't have to

 

I've been looking in junkyards eveytime I go for two years and have yet to see a functional latch.

Velcro sounds like a good idea. It'd suck sounding like a cheap wallet though.
