Default 96 xj throwing code 43

Code 43 is a misfire.... I had the Jeep running g for a good while, shut it off to do some yard work, came back and it would start... this has been going on for like 2 days now....

I replaced the starter, plugs, wire, cap, rotor, ckp/cps and battery....

I have not done anything fuel related yet. On my list is new fuel filter and pulling the fuel rail to check injectors....
It seems like I’m getting enough fuel pressure ( I checked and the port on the fuel rail )

I just want to figure out what the hell is going on...

it also through code 25 which is IAC fault ( I unplugged the IAC and plugged it back in and it cleared )

any ideas ??

It looks like you know the causes to Code 43, Multiple Cylinder Misfires.
How does the Jeep run? Did you do the tune up, & then the Code 43 started? Did you do anything to the Jeep prior to the Code 43? Were you playing around with the distributor by any chance? Do you have a spark gap tester? Have you checked your timing? Do you have a fuel pressure gauge? You should check it next, before you throw some more parts at it. How's the charging system? Have you / are you able to test your alternator, cables, battery, etc???

Did you use quality ignition parts and Mopar sensors?

This guy sells quality ignition components and other items, at a good price.

He operates a Facebook page. I've done business with him. I'd highly recommend him, based off of my experience.

For your code 25 that cleared itself, how many warmup cycles has the Jeep experienced, since you cleared that code?

You have mentioned a couple of two digit codes that I assume you retrieved through the "key on - key off" technique?

My recommendation is as you have a 96, your computer is OBDII compliant which means that if you hook up a code reader or a scan tool, you will get the full PXXXX code.

This full code is MUCH more helpful and gives you more specific information than the two digit code. Interpreting codes is difficult enough as it is, so get the full code and post it here for comments.

Good luck!
