96 xj heater controls.

96 xj heater controls.
Can anyone tell me if the heater controls on a 96 xj are lit (slide controls not round turn *****)? Have been trying to have a look myself but can not get the steering column upper cover off to enable me to remove the trim to take a look see. What screw heads are the two recess bolts under the steering column housing? Are they star drives? If so where do you get a tool to get the drive that far up?
