Default Totaled! :(

Two nights ago totaled my 01 xj pulling out of my driveway looking back to make sure I didnt hit the gate and smashed into my little sister's boyfriends truck that was parked in the middle of the road. Found a 96 cherokee that needs a new transfer case for 700, and I believe it has same one as the 2001. Planning on swapping those, pulling motor and tranny out of totaled one and scrapping the body after I remove the amp and stuff I wanna keep. I don't have enough posts to post in the for sale section so I'm working my way there, lol. Starting motor and tranny pull tonight after its towed home, any comments on transfer case swap? Not entirely sure if they are direct match and want to do minimal work possible since I am on a budget tighter than lungs during an asthma attack.

Bummer man. Glad no one was hurt.. Right?.. Anyways, I don't think the swap is direct, but doable.. Dunno about cost.. That varies depending on how much of it you can do yourself.

Depending on his insurance Co, the % needed to total it vs. the actual value could be easy to achieve with minor damage

Agreed, but it sounds like it's totaled totaled. I mean he's parting it out and chucking the shell. Why would you do that if it were just an insurance total but minor actual damage. You'd buy it back and use the insurance payment to spruce up your rig, right?

I guess your little sister's boyfriend is smaller than you? Surprising you do not mention any type of altercation. I know if you just carelessly slammed into my truck, I would not be happy, I don't care who you are.
