Quote: It wasn't difficult just, tedious. I had the best luck with Sprayway #87 contact cement. One thing the instructions didn't include that I wish I would have done is leave about 2 or 3 inches in the front to fold over and glue to the top. It will give you a really nice front edge. It will also be stronger bc, that is the only edge without trim to hold it.
Good luck to you.
Thanks man

The only way it gets hot is when I leave the windows up during work on these 90 degree days. Then its a damn sauna!

I spray that adhesive glue on there but it just keeps falling down. It's the foam stuff behind it that's screwed up

I took the whole thing down, ripped the crappy fabric off and used my vacuum cleaner to get the old foam off, it worked great. I went to the fabric store and bought canvas material and used 3M heavy duty adhesive to glue it up. Make sure you leave about 2 inches over the ends so you can fold it over the backside and glue it. The whole deal cost me about $25 and it's holding strong...

What did you glue the canvas to?

I did that for a while before I started looking on this forum. The $10 spray adhesive from autozone lasts about a week and then it falls back down. the only real way to do it is to sand down the headboard and use 3M adhesive to put new fabric on.

You have to reuse the flimsy fiberglass headliner that's in there...have you taken it out?

When you say you took yours off, do you mean the whole headliner or just the fabric that had fell off? Do you have any pics?

If you don't take the headliner out, clean it off and re-glue new material to it there's no point. It will keep falling down. Get a phillips head screwdriver, remove the trim pieces from the sides and back, then pull the headliner and get to work. There's no other way around it.
