on my new-to-me '96 Sports, comes with a few faults, one needs attention,

Hazard lights will come on randomly, with inside light flashing

manipulating the switch, or just driving, will cause it to go out, but its a nuisance

The suspects include the hazard switch built into the the indicator stalk being worn/dirty, the yellow plastic relay/flasher under steering wheel, bad wiring, or a dodgy plug

some questions,
can the Hazard switch itself be further dismantled & cleaned?
Is there a separate indicator relay & hazard relay, or only one flasher unit?
do the hazard & indicator have separate fuses?

any tips gratefully recieved, as the fault is intermittent, but could leave me stranded with a flat battery, so a fault finding strategy is needed

the fault appears to be induced by opening the drivers or passenger front door, and then be cancelled upon setting the indicator whilst the car is in motion

so not needing immediate fix, but weird !

as my door lock/unlock switch doesnt work either, I suspect some surgery in the kick panel wiring is upcoming
