Default Help identify sound

So I have sort of a gear whine with my 99. Still have the og dana 35 in it. Im going to replace it in the future with ford 8.8 most likely. I don't have access to a welder right now. Id like to get another year out of the turdy five though. Without putting too much money in something that I'm going to replace down the road I wanted to see if anybody could confirm the location of sound I'm having.
Imagine if you will a balloon filled with air. You take the mouthpiece of the balloon and you stretch it back and forth letting out air (fart sounds). That's the sound I get when decelerating. Kinda off on balloon farting sound uhhh....uhhh....uhhhhhhhhh.

Anyways I'm thinking the pinion side is the culprit? Maybe the pinion nut?
Maybe if I got the pinion depth and or backlash back into spec I could ride on out with a little less fear in my head that the whole thing isn't going to explode on me one day.

that's all
cheers
