Googling I've found something that says code 72 is that the catalyst in the exhaust is bad, unless I am mistaken. I have a brand new o2 sensor in it, so could someone clarify if this means I need a new catalytic converter or not, and if I do, is this something that I need to take care of right away, meaning will it give me other problems if I do not have this resolved asap.

#72 is the code for the catalytic converter circuit. There is a recall on the catalytic converter for that yr that's still valid. I had the link but lost it in a computer crash.

Got lucky. Scroll down to "Recall Search" and put in your VIN to see if your XJ has been serviced.
