96 CPS Question - Engine cranks does not start
Hey all
Wondering if someone could help with a problem i am having with my 96 Cherokee 4.0L 5spd?
Engine Cranks will not start. Do not hear fuel pump priming.
No fuel at fuel-rail.
Checked fuses/swapped relay for fuel pump. No change
Unplugged CPS connecter at engine. Fuel pump kicks in and primes.
Fuel rail squirts out a small amount of fuel now.
Does this sound like a bad CPS sensor or bad connectors/wiring to CPS sensor? Tested CPS sensor...got 3.74ohms.
When i unplug the CPS sensor (with ignition turn to ON) and the fuel pump kicks in...is that typical behavior for bad cps or something else?
Thanks for the help!!!

Let us know Eh? I think it's good for the whole site if we post solutions instead of just walking away when it's done. Good Luck! D.

That did the trick! took about 15 minutes to remove and about 10 to put back in. Used a few extension bars on the ratchet - real easy. She fired right up!! Thanks again for your help and a great forum!
...now i gotta go fix that hole in the cat converter where the O2 sensor blew out!!! lmao Cheers!
