96 cherokee down shifts randomly

Default 96 cherokee down shifts randomly

Hello I am having problems with my Cherokee it it starts hard and down shifts at strange times if you have any ideas or advice it would be appreciated thanks

Check trannny fluid in neutral

Check for any leaks in tranny cooler lines ! Especially around the harmonic balancer and stabilizer ! Must be running !

It doesn't seem to be leaking. I was told that it may be the throttle position sensor but I can't find it on the jeep

I Adjusted the cable then started the motor it was revving around 2000 for a few seconds then went down to 1000 I took it for a drive and it seemed to help. then on the way back it started to act up again

I had to press the gas peddle and roll it over for about 5 seconds to get it to start

i had this happening when i had an intake leak, torque your intake bolts down to proper specs. and in PROPER ORDER

I found the intake manifold bolt tightening sequence in my Haynes book but can't find the specified torque for the bolts

The two end bolts (far right and far left) are 17 ft/lbs, the rest are 23.

tps, 2 screws and its replaced. i got a BWD from advance auto. my moneys on the tps.. had a similar problem
