Probably the dumbest question of the year? My headlights are all out - they were flickering the other day..now there's nothing, not even tail lights. I'm hoping its a blown fuse - but I can't find the proper fusebox, just the one with the relay's and a couple of huge fuses. I found a box between the guard and the air filter, but it just has 3 weird massive plugs from the loom which I can't get off...?) Mine is right on the change over, with some 96 things and some 97 things. Help please......
oh really!? Righto, thanks...heading out to have another look! ta! Doh.....just had a looksie - nothing in there except some wires/looms, one inline fuse.
thanks, I'll have a looksie on that side.....bummer if it's the switch - looks like you've gotta pull the whole dash apart to get it out? Figured I'd try the easy option first (fingers crossed for a fuse lol)
Still no luck finding the fuses? But I went for a spin, and pulled the switch, the headlights were working again. So I'm guessing it's the switch anyhow.....because all systems are 'go' again
Check the switch. I wiggled the switch, it would work. Then it wouldn't any more. 20 year old switch! My '94 did that at work of course late at night. I found that I could pull on the bright lever and the brights worked. Ended up using electrical tape to keep that flash bright lever on all the way home, 60 miles. Replaced the switch. All good. Be sure to connect that ground. I found that my brake light didn't work. Thought it was a bulb. Checked the switch and I left the ground wire. Hooked it up. Brake light worked.

ok, so I don't know what an FSM is? But they're still working fine....wondering if perhaps it's the wiring on the switch. The switch clicks in and out really well - I figure it'd be sloppy if the switch itself was buggered? Think someone has mucked around with it before, as the clip on the wood grain is broken right next to the switch..?
Okay, seriously, it's the factory service manual. They're specific to your year and vastly superior to those silly Haynes and Chilton manuals. You can sometimes find them on eBay for as little as $50, but there are also scans floating around if you want to download one. I personally prefer having the book with all the greasy handprints on it.
LMAO!!! Bur seriously....no I don't have one - it's on my 'to do' list though. Being in New Zealand, some things can be a major to get. I've just priced up a replacement switch (incase)...$70! wiiiicked....but right now, they're still working good, great news, because my warrant of fitness is booked in at 1pm today lol
