Default 96 4.0 cherokee no start

Start off I did do a search and found nothing.

Here it is....

Driving down the highway and pulled off to fill up. No problem starting after fill up and got back up on the highway. Reach highway speed and about 10 min down the road no throttle response and stalls. We coast off the highway and stuck. No check engine light nothing just died.

Looked for any broken wires and such and found nothing. Get her home via 750$ tow and look deeper. It will crank but no turn over. I replaced the cap, wires, rotor, CPS, and checked for fuel pressure. Reading 50PSI on crank.

Anyone got any ides on where I should start to look?

Also Before this all happened I had a missfire and found a head gasket leak. Replaced the gasket, head, O2 sensors, CPS, Wires, Plugs, Cap and coil. And I'm sure some other things. been some time. The XJ has been sitting for a few months.

Thanks in advace.

Where did you buy the new CPS from? If it was not purchased directly from the dealership, there is a chance it was bad right out of the box.

Auto Zone. I read it out and had no resistance.

Also I just remembered.

When I check for spark I have strong Spark from the coil but when I check it from a plug wire it is weak.

Also checked all fueses and relays.

Cap and rotor in good shape? Plug and coil wires have acceptable resistance readings? Rotor pointing to #1 with #1 at TDC?
What did you use for a replacement coil? Could be that it has enough oomph to fire a single gap during testing, but not enough to jump the rotor/cap gap and the plug gap together with the additional resistance of the wires.

Read my OP and you will see that already stated getting 50 Psi when I crank. Good fuel means good gas not water.
