My stereo kept grounding out so i pulled stereo out and who ever had the jeep before cut all the wires instead of using a harness plug. So i traced down and replaced the wires in front doors. But a few questions,1) first what size of speakers are in the front doors? so i can replace them. 2)what size speakers are in the rear hatch? I can't tell because they are missing, aslong with the wires. 3) How would be able to fish some wires into the hatch to add some speaker wires if i put some speakers in the back tailgate?

 

All 4 speakers are 5.25"s, although lots of people have had luck fitting 6.5" in both locations. I have 6.5"s in both locations with no modifications. You will have to remove trim panels and everything to get wires back there. Then, route the wires where they went originally. (On my 89 the wires exit the body, and enter the hatch on the drivers side.)

 

So what is this tube stopping me from getting my new speakers all the way in?

 

that tube looks like the rear washer fluid hose.

 

I just installed 6.5" in the front doors. Only had to trim the door panels slightly.

I also just installed 6x9" speakers in the hatch, but that took a little cutting, and spacer ring I cut out of MDF.
