Default 95 XJ power steering pump leaking

Hi everyone, just picked up a 95 XJ country, slowly going through and fixing all the little things. i replaced the water pump and when i moved the power steering pump out of the way, i busted off the low pressure nipple on the back of the reservoir. bought a new reservoir and swapped it out, now its leaking from where the reservoir goes into the pump. i took it back off and put some sillicone around the part that goes into the pump and let the sillicone dry for a day. put it all back together and filled with fluid and it wasnt leaking. figured i was in the clear. today i went for a short drive and when i got back, the pump was leaking again.

i dont know what else to do, short of buying a whole new pump/reservoir assembly. any suggestions?

Been a while since I had one of those apart. There's a washer or gasket there on the nipple that inserts into the pump housing, did you replace that?

yes, the new reservoir came with a new o ring, and i made sure the old o ring wasnt stuck inside the hole on the pump.

Heck then I got nothin'. Must be a poorly made tank, or perhaps a crack somewhere in the pump. Might be quickest to get a working pump/tank/pulley assembly from the salvage yard.
